Ever since I can remember, I have always been dancing. When I was younger, my mom used to put some music on and dance with us for hours. While growing up in Montreal and Laval, I have never stopped dancing. Then, in high school, I felt in love with fitness. I start to jog, take aerobic classes and do weight training.
In 1998, I move to Ottawa to study and I started to take salsa classes on and off while studying. During my second year at the University, I decided to rekindle my fitness passion and to get a gym membership that I still have today. Once I finished University, I decided to expend my vocabulary and take other kind of dance classes along with salsa. After sometimes, I got the opportunity to perform in various Salsa events in North America.
In 2007, my boyfriend and I decided to go take some classes in Montreal, as well as other North American cities, which led to the creation of our group: Blackanese Mambo. I am still taking various dance classes, such as Afro-Cuban, Ballet, Ballet Jazz, Ballroom, Belly Dance, Guinean Dance, Haitian Dance, Hip Hop, Reggaeton and Salsa (on1 and on2) with great teachers from all over the world (Edson Vallon, Audrey Gaussiran, Caroline Paré, San Tropez, David Zepeda, Paulina Posadas, Masacote Dance Company, Karel Flores, Eddie/Maria Torres, Yvonne Gutierrez and many more); and I still love fitness!
Now, with my group fitness certification, I just want to bring my love for fitness and all those dances together at Studio X Ottawa.
